PIGGIES +++ My friend Franck Zeisel is a cool guy. As a singer/songwriter himself (operating under the name of « The Boy In The Sky ») he knows it’s not easy to make oneself known in the world of music. So he had the selfless idea of founding a blog called Life Is A Minestrone in order to promote indie artists he likes. He’s also very active in the Paris scene as an organiser of house concerts. As a sideman for Olivier Rocabois and BLOT, I’ve been lucky to participate in a few of those concerts.
Because of the ongoing epidemic, the whole Paris region has been confined since mid-March, so there’s no way of playing music in front of an audience at the moment. But Franck had the splendid idea of a web festival to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ breakup. Over the Easter weekend, he tirelessly posted a video per hour: there were 40 contributions by the likes of the afore-mentioned Olivier Rocabois and BLOT, but also Avi Buffalo, John Cunningham, and many more! You already guessed it, I recorded a video as well. Here’s my take on the White Albums’s « Piggies ».
The whole epic festival The Day The Beatles Broke Up is still available on YouTube.
